Why is Google Optimisation important?

Google has automated software which visits your website, otherwise known as the Google Spider or Googlebot. It's this software that determines how your website should be listed.

When the spider visits your website it only sees the code of the site. To see the code of your website (or ours), try clicking your right mouse button and selecting "View Source".

If your website's code is badly written, then it makes it very hard for the Googlebot to understand it and Google will have no choice but to list you badly.

Google prefer well coded websites

One the other hand, if your website's code is written correctly (Google optimised), then Google will easily be able to determine what your site is about and therefore list you against the search terms you want.

Plus, Google will see the quality of your website's code as a reflection of the quality of your site, and list you higher.
